About us

Welcome to East Surrey N Gauge

We are a friendly club of railway modellers working to N-gauge standards, which is approximately 2mm to the foot. We meet on the first and third Wednesday’s of the month in Redhill, and aim to have trains running on a modular circuit most evenings. We also meet on most second Sunday afternoons.

The main object of the club is to play trains with friends – but it also provides an opportunity for enthusiasts of N-gauge model railways to meet and exchange wide-ranging experience, information and ideas.

The club uses ‘modular’ layouts – members build sections at home that can be joined together into one larger layout. Many members have modular boards; most also have their own ‘home’ layout. We currently work in two modular formats – 4 track N-mod and 2 track N-Club International. We set up an N-mod circuit most club nights, giving four tracks for members to run their trains. This gives a delightfully eclectic mixture – with a GWR pannier overtaking a Japanese bullet train.
